A Really Big Salute.

Happy Monday darlings!

Today, we are celebrating the amazing heroes in our nation who have or are currently serving in the military...without their constant bravery we would not be the fabulous country we are today. So be sure to thank all of the veterans in your life, your appreciation will certainly bring a smile to their face!

There are so many things to love in this vintage military engagement shoot...

I just fell in love with the simple beauty of this wedding day portrait.

This is such a unique and pretty shot...

Swoon.

A dreamy military wedding that you should definitely check out!

Gosh, there is just something about a man in uniform. :)

Until next time, xo.

Bootleggin' and Fringe

Alright, so unless you have been living under a rock, you are anxiously awaiting the premiere of The Great Gatsby! The costumes, the cast, the setting...it is almost too much to take!

Seriously though, this movie couldn't be coming out at a better time...pretty much everyone seems to be utterly fascinated with the Roaring Twenties. There is just something bewitching about the sparkles, fringe, sheer excess, headpieces, parties, jewels...

The wedding industry certainly isn't immune to what I am calling Twenties Fever! This brief period (only 9 short years!) in American history has totally taken over nuptials...from wedding gowns to receptions...it's influences are literally everywhere.

Without further rambling from me...here are some of my absolute favorite Roaring Twenties pieces...

Enjoy! xo

I just adore the detailing on this gown...

How romantic is this bridal cap?! I can barely take it!

Jenny Packham totally hit it out of the park with her 2012 collection!

Can my face look like this every single day please?

Some more stunners from Jenny Packham...

Seriously, I can't stinkin' wait for this movie...so I threw a photo in...

Oh yeah, happy Monday guys and gals! :)

Did You Know?! Part Two

Hi loves. Good news, we have made it to another week and it is a gorgeous day outside...like throw on a cardigan gorgeous! Fall, here we come!

As promised last week...here is Part Two of Did You Know?!

Enjoy! As always, share your sweet thoughts and opinions with us...we can't wait to hear from you.

-Next time you are asked to wear a heinously ugly bridesmaids dress, consider yourself a lifesaver. Back in the day (like way back in the day) the bridal party would dress just like the bride and groom so that any evil spirits who might want to attack would be confused as to who the happy couple was. So by rocking that taffeta monstrosity, you are saving one of your BFFs from evil!

-During the Middle Ages, having an obnoxiously long train meant that you were close to the King and Queen. Pretty cool? Absolutely.

Terrifying Troll Image via AdorableKidsDressedUp.com

-You certainly wouldn't want your wedding celebration to be crashed by trolls...which is why brides and bridesmaids in some areas of Sweden carry bouquets of stinky weeds! Apparently trolls dislike stink...which just seems odd because I envision them smelling.

-Want to save some major cash on your wedding day? Blame tradition! According to English superstition, Wednesday is the luckiest day to tie the knot.

Glittering Gold Band via ApplesofGold.com

-Alright, this is just totally nuts...each year in the United States, seventeen tons of gold are made into wedding bands. That is a whole lot of gold.

-Umm...we need to take a page out of Egypt's book. Traditionally, family members would be in charge of cooking for the couple up to one week after their nuptials so the newlyweds could take full advantage of relaxation!

Scrumptious Cake Image via WeddingandPartyNetwork.com

-Apparently Queen Victoria's wedding cake weighed a whopping 300 pounds...that is my kind of party.

-Feel like eloping in Vegas? Avoid Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve if you don't want to wait in long lines...apparently Cupid and Baby New Year inspire romance!

I hope that one day you will be able to drop some of these amazing bits of history into a conversation and impress everyone by showing how stinkin' smart you are! No need to thank me, you are welcome.

Until next time, xo.

P.S.- Just like Part One of  "Did You Know?!" all of these factoids come from TheKnot.com...I just adore those wedding experts over there.

It is said that if a single woman sleeps with a piece of groom's cake under her pillow that she will dream of her future husband...I mean, I get the allure of this but wouldn't it be messy?
